Why custody scheduling is harder than it looks
Parenting plans often combine a repeating base pattern with school events, holidays, and one-off changes. DuetNest provides a visual shared calendar for entering that plan; it does not interpret legal documents or guarantee that a generated schedule matches an agreement.
How the scheduler works
Pick a pattern
Choose a 2/2, 5/2, week-on/week-off, weekend-split, or custom pattern.
Set the parent order
Choose the parent order, generate the repeating plan from the app's current start point, and review the color-coded result. The current setup does not ask for a custom start date.
Add overrides
Edit individual dates for holidays, summer plans, or one-off changes while keeping the base pattern available for reference.
Use supported calendar connections
The web app can import Google Calendar events read-only, and the mobile app can add selected shared events to the phone calendar. These are separate, user-initiated flows rather than two-way sync.

What if we need to swap a day?
Edit the affected date in the shared calendar. The current product does not advertise a separate approval, signature, or mutual-agreement workflow for swaps.
Does it work without my co-parent?
Yes. You can use the schedule solo and invite your co-parent later.
